Candidate for 23rd International Grand Polaris

Bro. Sean D. Housen Sr. was initiated into Iota Phi Theta at the Beta Nu Chapter, at Northern Illinois University in 1991 and is currently an active member of the Beta Zeta Omega Chapter in Los Angeles, California. During his term of service to the brotherhood, Sean has consistently served in several roles under four different administrations, which includes Regional Polaris (Region of the year recipient in 2009), Director of Regional Affairs, Chief of Strategic Affairs, and currently serving as the 22nd International Grand Vice Polaris.

No stranger to the South Atlantic Region, Sean was raised in Brooklyn, New York, and is a loving father of three beautiful children; two girls, 28
and 27 years old as well as one 18-year-old son. Sharing in his love of fatherhood, he is a grandfather to his ten-year-old granddaughter Brooklyn, named after his hometown.


Sean experienced is a versatile business leader with over 25 years of experience in operations and multi-unit management. Currently, Bro. Housen is employed as the Regional Facilities Project Manager for Jack In The Box Corporate office, overseeing over 150 opened and surplus locations in California, Oklahoma, Washington State, North and South Carolina. 

His collective experience in both Iota Phi Theta and in the corporate world makes him not only qualified in experience but prepared in wisdom to lead Iota Phi Theta to higher heights.

Sean's life is defined by the brotherhood. A ten year honorable veteran of the United States Navy, member of the Prince Hall Masonic Sunset Lodge #26, Shriner member of the Muharram #95 Temple in Santa Monica, California, member of the 100 Black Men of America, and 29 years of Iota membership, he knows exactly what it takes to bring us together as, "One Iota".

When asked how to best describe the motivation behind Sean's candidacy for International Grand Polaris, he stated the following, "You can't hit a target you cannot see and you cannot see a target you do not have." -Zig Ziglar

This campaign is about reaching the full potential of Iota. Building upon the legacy of manhood which our Founders set before us, exceeding beyond the potential of our labor thus far, and manifesting the vision of progress and service to all.

Candidate for 23rd International Grand VIce Polaris

Bro. Myron J. Covington was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ. No stranger to lifetime commitment, Bro. Covington is a husband to his wife Shikeya and a father to his 8 year old son, Kai'Jean and 2 year old daughter, Akaisha.


Myron was initiated at New Jersey City University through the Epsilon Chapter, in the Spring of 1998. Fresh off the sand, his work in Iota began immediately when he was elected to the role of Polaris for his chapter. At his first Conclave in Oakland, CA, Myron was elected to serve as an Undergraduate Member to the Board of Directors. Shortly after this elected position, he was appointed to serve in the role of New Jersey State Director, where he oversaw activities for all chapters within the state ranging from intake, training and development as well as chapter operations.

Understanding that leadership is a noble calling, Myron has held numerous positions ranging from Regional Vice Polaris, Regional Polaris, member and Chair of the Nominations and Elections Committee and currently a member of the Rituals and Protocol Committee. A good leader always leads by example and as the author of the Elections and Nominations manual of Iota Phi Theta, Bro. Covington's candidacy for International Grand Vice is a testament to the development of leaders in the brotherhood.

Professionally, Myron is an Operations Supervisor for the Geo Group at Harbor House under the Bureau of Prisons. In addition to his professional career, he is a business owner and dedicated community leader throughout New Jersey and founded a local mentoring group, R.E.A.L.T.Y. (REACHING EVERYONE ALSO LIFE IN TODAY’S YOUTH).

A brother to Iota Phi Theta for over 22 years, a member of St. John Lodge #43 F&AM Prince Hall Affilated Masons and a host of other service based organizations, Myron knows what it takes to be of one sound, one body and One Iota.

Building upon the tradition of the various  Grand Councils to which he has had the pleasure of serving, Myron has not only the experience but the courage and will that is necessary to move Iota forward in what are tumultuous times around us.


Myron brings to Iota sound relationship building and wisdom from all regions of the brotherhood, a necessary skill set to support the vision of his running mate. When asked to describe what he will do first if elected to serve as the International Grand Vice Polaris, Bro. Covington stated, "Iota Phi Theta is a corporate structure with the benefit of brotherhood. I look forward to helping the brotherhood regain it's dominance and focus within the community."
